World4You 2FA: how to set up an authenticator app

Novaz steps checked against version 1.0.5
On this page
World4You is an Austrian web host and domain registrar. Your World4You account is the customer area at my.world4you.com, where you manage domains, email, hosting and billing, so it's worth protecting well. With two-factor authentication (2FA) on, World4You asks for a 6-digit code after your customer number and password (World4You).
World4You's setup article is written around its own world4you app, but the same article says the codes also work in other 2FA apps, and names Microsoft Authenticator and 2FAS as examples. Its account security page recommends an authenticator app too (World4You). This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone. Any authenticator app works the same way.
How we checked this guide: the World4You steps come from World4You's own FAQ portal and its public 2FA reset page, linked below, which we read on October 21, 2026, using plain requests to the pages' HTML. We haven't tested them on a World4You account, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.
Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app
World4You's steps start with the customer area open on your computer and the app on your phone (World4You):
- Sign in to my.world4you.com and go to Your user > Settings > Two-factor authentication.
- Click Next. World4You shows a QR code.
- In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at the code. (World4You's article tells you to tap Add token at this point, but that's a button in its own app, not in Novaz.)
- Back in the customer area, click Continue.
- Type the 6-digit code from Novaz into the number fields, then click Finish.
From then on, the customer area asks for a code each time you sign in.
If your customer area is in German, the same path is Dein Benutzer > Einstellungen > Zwei-Faktor-Authentifizierung, and the buttons are Weiter and Fertigstellen. The German article uses Weiter for both the Next and Continue steps (World4You).
No setup key mentioned
World4You's article only describes scanning the QR code. It doesn't mention a text key you could type instead. If you're setting this up on the same iPhone that shows the customer area, take a screenshot of the QR code, then in Novaz tap + and Choose a photo. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
World4You says its codes have 6 digits and change every 30 seconds, which is what Novaz uses by default. You can check this in Novaz: tap the account and look at Interval under Details.
No backup codes
World4You's FAQ doesn't mention backup or recovery codes. Its fallback is the phone number stored in your customer area: World4You can send a confirmation code to that number by text message (SMS) so you can turn 2FA off yourself (World4You).
That makes the stored phone number your safety net. Before you rely on Novaz, check in the customer area that the number is current and one you'll keep. Unless you turn on iCloud backup or export a backup file in Novaz, its keys exist only on that iPhone, so there's no other copy if the phone is lost.
If World4You rejects your code
World4You's FAQ doesn't cover rejected codes. The most common cause is the iPhone's clock: open Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Novaz also warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. Make sure you're reading the World4You entry in Novaz, not another account. More causes are in Authenticator code not working?
If you lose your phone or change phones
World4You treats both the same way: you turn 2FA off first, then set it up again. If you're changing phones and have a Novaz iCloud backup or backup file, you can restore your accounts on the new iPhone instead, and the World4You codes keep working. Without one, a new phone means doing this for World4You. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.
World4You describes two routes, depending on whether you still have the phone number stored in your customer area (World4You).
You still have the phone number. Go to the Deactivate two-factor authentication page. Enter your Customer ID, Password and Phone number, then click Next. World4You texts a confirmation code to the number on your account, and you enter it in the next step. The page warns that your account is then protected by your password alone (World4You).
You don't have the phone number either. You can't turn it off yourself. Email World4You Support with a scan of a valid official photo ID. World4You's security page gives support@world4you.com as its support address (World4You). World4You doesn't say how long this takes.
Either way, World4You strongly recommends turning 2FA back on in Settings as soon as you're back in. More in Lost the phone with your authenticator app?
Turning 2FA off
World4You's FAQ doesn't describe a switch for turning 2FA off from Settings. The only documented way is the reset page above, which World4You says is meant for exceptional cases such as a lost smartphone. If you want to stop using Novaz for World4You, do that first, then open the account in Novaz and tap Remove account. Removing it from Novaz alone doesn't turn off 2FA at World4You.
