Zoolz is a cloud backup service for businesses, and its web console is where an administrator manages users, policies and backed-up data. Two-factor authentication (2FA) protects that console. It's optional, but Zoolz strongly recommends it, and once it's on you type a six-digit code from an authenticator app along with your password (Zoolz). Its security overview lists 2FA among the measures that secure the web console (Zoolz).

Zoolz documents just one method: a time-based (TOTP) authenticator app. It doesn't describe text messages, email codes or security keys. This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone, but any authenticator app works the same way.

How we checked this guide: the Zoolz steps come from Zoolz's own help pages on the Zoolz Wiki, linked below, which we read on October 24, 2026. We haven't tested them on a Zoolz account, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.

A note on the name: the old intelli.zoolz.com address, once home to Zoolz Intelligent, now redirects to Genie9's BigMIND site. This guide covers the Zoolz web console described on the current Zoolz Wiki.

Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app

The setting is a checkbox in your account settings, not a separate security page. Zoolz's steps start with signing in as an admin user (Zoolz):

  1. Sign in to the Zoolz web console in a browser as an admin user.
  2. Click your username in the top-right corner, then choose Account Settings.
  3. Find the TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION section and check the box. Zoolz shows a barcode (a QR code).
  4. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at the barcode. If you're viewing the console on the same iPhone, take a screenshot, tap +, then Choose a photo. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
  5. Novaz shows a six-digit code for Zoolz. Type it in the Code field under TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION.
  6. Click Save.

Zoolz's article only describes scanning. It doesn't mention a text key you could type by hand, so plan to scan the barcode. If you can't, see What is a 2FA setup key? for how manual entry works in general.

The article doesn't say whether users other than admins can turn on 2FA for their own sign-in, or whether an admin can require it for everyone.

When Zoolz asks for a code

Zoolz asks for the six-digit code each time you sign in to your account through a web browser (Zoolz). Its help doesn't mention a "remember this device" option, and doesn't say whether the Zoolz desktop or server apps ask for a code.

No backup codes documented

Zoolz's help pages don't mention backup or recovery codes, and they don't describe a second method to fall back on. That matters if you haven't turned on iCloud backup or exported a backup file in Novaz, because then its keys exist only on that iPhone. If it's lost, your authenticator for Zoolz is gone with it. Read what backup codes are for and decide before you turn 2FA on how you'd get back in.

If Zoolz rejects your code

Zoolz's help doesn't cover rejected codes. The usual cause is the iPhone's clock: open Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Novaz warns you when your clock is 15 seconds or more off. More causes are in Authenticator code not working?

Changing phones

Zoolz doesn't document a way to move 2FA to a new phone. If you have a Novaz iCloud backup or backup file, you can restore your accounts on the new iPhone and the codes keep working. Otherwise, the documented steps allow a simple route while you still have the old phone: turn 2FA off (below), then turn it on again and scan the new barcode with the new iPhone. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.

If you lose your authenticator

Zoolz's help pages don't describe a recovery process for a lost authenticator, what proof it asks for, or how long it takes. Its password reset article covers only a forgotten password, with a reset link sent by email (Zoolz), and says nothing about 2FA. The route left is Zoolz's technical support form (Zoolz). Turning 2FA off

Sign in to the web console as an admin user, entering a code from your authenticator app. Click your username, choose Account Settings, uncheck the box in the TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION section, and click Save (Zoolz). Then open Zoolz in Novaz and tap Remove account.
