Buda.com is a cryptocurrency exchange and wallet, and its help center is in Spanish. Don't look for "two-factor authentication" in your settings: Buda calls it the Clave Dinámica (dynamic key), and its help also calls it OTP. It's a 6-digit code that changes every 30 seconds and comes from an authenticator app on your phone. It's optional, and Buda names Authy and Google Authenticator but says any authenticator app works (Buda.com). This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone. Any authenticator app works the same way.

How we checked this guide: the Buda.com steps come from Buda's own help center, linked below, which we read on October 24, 2026. The live help pages show a security check to automated visitors, so we read archived copies on web.archive.org, saved between May and October 2026. We haven't tested the steps on a Buda.com account, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.

Turn on the Clave Dinámica

Buda's help says to do this in a web browser, not in the Buda app (Buda.com):

  1. Sign in to Buda.com in a web browser.
  2. Open the menu with your name at the top right and choose Configuración (Settings).
  3. On the Seguridad (Security) tab, find Clave Dinámica and click Activar (Turn on). Buda shows a QR code.
  4. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at the code. If the QR code is on the same iPhone, take a screenshot and use Choose a photo instead. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
  5. If scanning doesn't work, Buda shows a code you can type, just below the QR code. Its help doesn't give it a name. In Novaz, tap +, then Enter key manually, and type it as the Setup key. See What is a 2FA setup key?
  6. Novaz shows a 6-digit code right away. Type it on the Buda.com page to confirm.

Buda's codes are 6 digits every 30 seconds, which matches what Novaz makes from a typed key, as long as the key is at least 16 characters. A 2021 version of the article also had you confirm by email; the current one doesn't mention it.

Save the backup codes

Buda's help says it gives you backup codes during setup, and that they get you in if you lose access to your phone (Buda.com). It doesn't say how many there are or how to get new ones.

Keep them in a password manager or on paper, away from your phone. Without a Novaz backup, its keys exist only on your iPhone, so these codes are how you get back in if the phone is lost. See 2FA backup codes.

When Buda asks for the code

Once it's on, Buda asks for the code each time you sign in, right after your email address and password (Buda.com).

Crypto withdrawals are approved another way: with a selfie that Buda's team reviews, or a 6-digit security PIN set up in the Buda mobile app (Buda.com).

If Buda rejects your code

Buda's only advice is that codes change every 30 seconds, so if one runs out, use the next one (Buda.com). If fresh codes are also rejected, check your iPhone's clock: Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically. Novaz warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. More causes are in Authenticator code not working?

Changing phones

Buda recommends keeping the Clave Dinámica on a single device. When you change phones, it says to turn the Clave Dinámica off in your account first, or to move it with your authenticator app's own backup feature (Buda.com). Novaz's backup feature is iCloud backup or Export to file… under Settings > Backup: restore it on the new iPhone and your codes keep working. Without a backup, use the first route: turn it off while the old phone works, then set it up again on the new one. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.

If you lose your authenticator

First try a backup code. Buda says to sign in with one and then set up the Clave Dinámica again (Buda.com).

Without backup codes, you ask Buda to turn it off by proving who you are (Buda.com):

  1. Go to www.buda.com/desactivar_otp.
  2. Enter the email address on your Buda.com account.
  3. Buda emails you instructions with a button to start. Buda suggests opening it on your phone.
  4. Follow the steps on screen. Have your national ID document (Buda calls it your DNI) with you.

If the check confirms you're the account holder, the Clave Dinámica is turned off and you can sign in with your email and password alone. If not, Buda's team reviews the request and tells you what comes next. Buda doesn't say how long a review takes. Once you're back in, Buda suggests turning the Clave Dinámica on again. Turning it off

While you can still get codes: open Configuración from the menu with your name, go to the Seguridad tab and click Desactivar clave dinámica (Turn off dynamic key). Buda asks for your password and a current code. After that, you sign in with only your email and password (Buda.com). Then open the Buda.com entry in Novaz and tap Remove account.
