The consentmanager account is where you build and publish the cookie and consent banner for your websites and apps, see your consent statistics and manage invoices. You sign in at app.consentmanager.net. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is optional, and consentmanager's help describes one way to do it: one-time codes from an authenticator app, which the help page calls OTP-Auth (consentmanager). This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone. Any authenticator app works the same way.

How we checked this guide: the consentmanager steps come from consentmanager's own help pages, linked below, which we read on October 20, 2026. We haven't tested them on a consentmanager account, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.

Where the setting is depends on who you are

A consentmanager account can have one owner and several users that the owner invites under Account > Users (consentmanager). The 2FA help page sends these two groups to different places (consentmanager):

  • Account owner (admin): the cog icon in the top right corner.
  • Invited users (subaccounts): the person icon in the top right corner.

In both cases the help page's screenshots show Two-Factor Authentication in a menu that opens from a button with three dots. For the owner, the same menu also holds Change password, Edit account settings and Delete account.

Those screenshots are from an older version of the interface. consentmanager's newer help pages show the account area in a sidebar on the left, opened with the person icon near the bottom, with entries such as Users, Security and Change password (consentmanager, consentmanager). The 2FA page doesn't say where the setting sits in that layout, so if you can't find it, ask consentmanager support (below).

Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app

  1. Sign in at app.consentmanager.net.
  2. Open the menu for your role, as described above, and choose Two-Factor Authentication.
  3. Turn on OTP-Auth. consentmanager says "the system will show you a key and/or a QR-code" (consentmanager).
  4. If there's a QR code, open Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at it. If the code is on the same iPhone, take a screenshot and use Choose a photo instead. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
  5. If there's only a key, tap +, then Enter key manually. Type consentmanager as the Service, your username as the Account if you like, and the key as the Setup key. See What is a 2FA setup key?
  6. If consentmanager asks for a code to finish, type the one Novaz shows.

The help page doesn't say how many digits the codes have or how often they change. A QR code carries those settings to your app, while a key typed by hand always gives 6 digits every 30 seconds. So scan the QR code when you have the choice.

Signing in afterwards

consentmanager's login guide describes two screens: your username first, then your password. With 2FA on, it also asks for a code (consentmanager). It doesn't mention a way to skip the code on a trusted device. The login page also offers sign-in with a linked Google account, and your company may set up single sign-on. The help pages don't say whether consentmanager's own code is still asked for with either.

No backup codes documented

consentmanager's help doesn't mention backup or recovery codes, a second method, or a way to move the authenticator to another phone. That matters with Novaz: its keys stay on the iPhone unless you turn on iCloud backup or export a backup file, either of which lets you restore your accounts on a new iPhone. Without one, a new iPhone means adding consentmanager to Novaz again, so keep the old phone until you've done that. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.

If consentmanager rejects your code

The help pages don't cover rejected codes. The usual cause is the iPhone's clock: open Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Novaz warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. More causes are in Authenticator code not working?

If you lose your authenticator

consentmanager doesn't publish a recovery process for 2FA, what proof it asks for, or how long it takes. Its help pages point to customer support at support@consentmanager.net (consentmanager). There's also a form on the contact page, which warns that an AI assistant may handle your request. Write from the email address on the account and include your username, which can differ from your email address (consentmanager).

If you're an invited user, also tell the account owner, who manages your user profile. consentmanager doesn't say whether the owner can reset your 2FA.

The help pages also don't explain how to turn 2FA off. See Lost the phone with your authenticator app?
