Your Joker.com account is where your domains live: registrations, renewals, nameservers, DNS zones and changes of ownership all go through it. Joker.com strongly recommends two-factor authentication (2FA) for it, but leaves it optional (Joker.com). Once it's on, each sign-in asks for a six-digit code after your password (Joker.com).

The only method Joker.com documents is an authenticator app. Its FAQ says any app that supports TOTP should work and lists a few, such as Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator (Joker.com). This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone, and any other authenticator app follows the same steps.

How we checked this guide: the Joker.com steps come from Joker.com's own FAQ and the screenshots in it, linked below, which we read on October 20, 2026. The 2FA article was last updated in January 2025, and its screenshots may be older than that, so a label may differ slightly. We haven't tested the steps on a Joker.com account. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.

Your backup is a single key

Joker.com doesn't give you a list of backup codes. During setup it shows one recovery key, and that key gets you into Joker.com once if you can't produce a code from your app. You also have to type the key back in before 2FA is switched on (Joker.com). So have a safe place ready before you start, such as a password manager or a sheet of paper kept away from your phone.

Keep it even if you back up Novaz: it gets you in if you lose the phone without a Novaz backup, or with one made before you added Joker.com. More in 2FA backup codes.

Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app

The steps, as Joker.com's FAQ shows them (Joker.com):

  1. Sign in at joker.com, open the My Joker menu and choose Profile.
  2. Near the bottom left of your profile, find the Two factor authentication box. Move the slider to Enabled and click proceed.
  3. Joker.com shows a QR code. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at your screen. If you're using Joker.com on the same iPhone, take a screenshot, tap +, then Choose a photo. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
  4. Can't scan? The instructions next to the QR code include an activation code to enter by hand. In Novaz, tap +, then Enter key manually, type Joker.com under Service and the activation code under Setup key. See What is a 2FA setup key?
  5. Type the six-digit code from Novaz into Authentication code and click proceed.
  6. Joker.com now shows your recovery key. Write it down or print it, then click proceed.
  7. Type the recovery key into Recovery code and click enable. If you didn't save it, « back returns you to the key.

A notice in the top right corner then confirms that 2FA is activated.

Joker.com's FAQ doesn't say how often its codes change. In its example screenshot, the activation code is 16 characters long, which is the shortest key Novaz accepts when you type it. Scanning the QR code is the safer route, because a typed key always gets 30-second codes in Novaz.

Where you'll be asked for a code

Joker.com asks for the code whenever you sign in to your account, and its FAQ describes no option to remember a device (Joker.com). If you're a reseller, the setting reaches further: your Joker.com user settings, including 2FA, apply automatically to the RPanel.io reseller portal as well.

This guide covers the Joker.com account. Joker mailboxes are separate: mailbox webmail has a 2FA setting of its own, started from Initial Setup, and it comes with four recovery codes that each work once (Joker.com).

If Joker.com rejects your code

Joker.com's FAQ has no advice for codes that don't work. The usual cause is the iPhone's clock: open Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Novaz also warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. Other causes are in Authenticator code not working?

Changing phones

Joker.com doesn't describe moving 2FA to a new phone. Its FAQ does say you can turn 2FA off and on again at any time with the same slider in your profile (Joker.com). So while the old phone still works, sign in, switch 2FA off, then turn it on again and scan the new QR code on the new iPhone. Save the new recovery key. If you have a Novaz iCloud backup or backup file, you can restore your accounts on the new iPhone instead and keep the current key. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.

If you lose your authenticator

You have the recovery key. Use it to sign in. It works only once, and Joker.com doesn't say what happens to 2FA afterwards, so set it up again while you're signed in: switch the slider in Profile off, then on, and scan the new QR code with your current phone. That also gives you a fresh recovery key.

You don't have the key. Contact Joker.com support. Joker.com says that, as a domain registrar, it won't simply turn 2FA off for you. You first have to prove that you hold the account or the domain (Joker.com). It asks for a copy of an official document (identity card, driving license or passport) that shows the registrant's name and address. For an organization, it also wants the organization's name and address, confirmed by a utility bill. Joker.com doesn't say how long the check takes.

You've lost all your sign-in details. Then Joker.com's last resort is moving your domains to a new, active account. From the Domains menu of that account, you choose Change Ownership or Permissions of a Domain and may have to send the same kind of ID documents (Joker.com). Joker.com says this verification takes at least five days (Joker.com).

Turning 2FA off

Use the Two factor authentication slider in your Profile, the same one you used to turn it on (Joker.com). The FAQ doesn't say whether Joker.com asks for a code first. Because RPanel.io follows your Joker.com settings, turning 2FA off here affects that portal too.
