Leaseweb is a hosting company, and you manage its servers and cloud services in the Customer Portal at secure.leaseweb.com. The two-factor authentication (2FA) setting isn't in the portal, though. It's in the separate Profile Dashboard at profile.leaseweb.com, which you can also reach through My Profile in the portal's top-right menu (Leaseweb, archived).

Leaseweb offers two ways to get the code: an authenticator app or a text message. It recommends the app, because text messages depend on your phone carrier and don't always arrive (Leaseweb, archived). 2FA is optional for your own login, but the master user of a customer account can make it mandatory for everyone on that account. This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone. Any authenticator app works the same way.

How we checked this guide: the Leaseweb steps come from Leaseweb's own knowledge base, linked below. On October 21, 2026, kb.leaseweb.com showed an "Under Maintenance" page to every request, so we read archived copies of its articles, saved on web.archive.org on September 3, 2026. The main 2FA article was last updated by Leaseweb on May 11, 2026. We haven't tested the steps on a Leaseweb account, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.

Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app

Leaseweb's 2FA article describes these steps (Leaseweb, archived):

  1. Go to the Profile Dashboard and click Two-Factor Authentication in the menu on the left.
  2. Click Enable.
  3. Leaseweb asks you to pick a method. Click the App icon.
  4. Leaseweb shows a QR code. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at it. If the QR code is on the same iPhone, take a screenshot, tap +, then Choose a photo. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
  5. Novaz now shows a 6-digit code for Leaseweb. Type it into Leaseweb and click Enable.
  6. Click Activate 2-step verification to finish.

The article only mentions the QR code. It doesn't say whether Leaseweb also shows a text key you could type in instead.

Leaseweb's article also says the code changes every minute, while most services use 30 seconds, and it doesn't confirm the interval elsewhere. Scanning the QR code is the safe choice, because the code tells your app which settings to use. To check, tap Leaseweb in Novaz and look at Interval under Details.

Add a recovery phone number and recovery codes

Leaseweb asks everyone to set up at least one fallback, and it calls these a last resort for when your phone is gone (Leaseweb, archived). Both are on the same Two-Factor Authentication page:

  • Recovery codes. Click Generate tokens, then the Show icon in the recovery codes section. You get a list of 10 codes and a button to print them. Each code works once, and the list stays the same until you generate a new one.
  • Recovery phone number. Click Add recovery phone number and follow the same steps as the text-message method. Leaseweb can then text a code to that number when your main method isn't available.

Unless you've turned on Novaz's iCloud backup or exported a backup file, its keys exist only on your iPhone, so the recovery codes are your safety net if the phone is lost. Print them or keep them in a password manager, away from the phone. More in 2FA backup codes.

When Leaseweb asks for a code

You sign in at secure.leaseweb.com with your Email address and Password, then click Login. With 2FA on, Leaseweb then asks for your 6-digit code; type it and click Verify (Leaseweb, archived).

During setup, you can tick Trust this device. Leaseweb then stops asking for a code on that device for 30 days (Leaseweb, archived). Use it only on a computer that nobody else uses.

If your team requires 2FA

A master user can make 2FA mandatory for all users on the customer account, under Account Management > Users > Manage 2FA Security Settings. Leaseweb emails everyone when it's switched on, and users without 2FA must set it up at their next login (Leaseweb, archived). On the same Users tab, a green shield next to a user means that person has 2FA on (Leaseweb, archived).

If Leaseweb rejects your code

Leaseweb's articles don't cover rejected codes. The usual cause is the phone's clock. On your iPhone, open Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Novaz warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. Other causes are in Authenticator code not working?

Changing phones

Leaseweb doesn't describe moving the authenticator to a new phone. It does document turning 2FA off and on (below), so while you still have the old phone, turn 2FA off, set it up again with the new one, and make fresh recovery codes. With a Novaz iCloud backup or backup file, you can restore your accounts on the new iPhone instead. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.

If you lose your authenticator

Sign in with one of your recovery codes, or have a code texted to your recovery phone number. Then go back to Two-Factor Authentication and set up the app again on your new phone.

If you have neither, Leaseweb's articles don't say what to do. They describe no support process for resetting 2FA, no proof it would ask for and no timeline. One related point: Leaseweb may reject email support requests from an address that isn't in your customer account's Contact Information (Leaseweb, archived). Keep that list up to date. More in Lost the phone with your authenticator app?

Turning 2FA off

On the Two-Factor Authentication page, click Disable, then Disable again to confirm (Leaseweb, archived). Then open Leaseweb in Novaz and tap Remove account.
