The one.com Control Panel is where you manage your email addresses, websites, FTP details and invoices, and you sign in to it with your contact email address and a password (one.com). Two-step verification (2FA) is optional. one.com offers two kinds: a swipe to approve in its own one.com Companion app, or a 6-digit code from Google Authenticator (one.com). Google Authenticator is the only code app the help names, but it doesn't rule others out. This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone, and any authenticator app works the same way.

How we checked this guide: the one.com steps come from one.com's own help center and Academy, linked below, which we read on October 20, 2026. We haven't tested them on a one.com account, so a label may differ slightly, especially while one.com rolls out its new Control Panel design. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.

Change your contact email first, if you plan to

This is the catch on one.com. Its help says two-step verification stops working when you update your contact email address, and suggests turning 2FA off before the change and on again afterward (one.com). That address is also your Control Panel username and where password reset codes go (one.com). If you've been meaning to change it, do that before you add one.com to Novaz.

Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app

  1. Sign in to the Control Panel at login.one.com.
  2. Open your account settings with the gear icon in the top-right corner (one.com). In the older design, it's My account > Account settings (one.com).
  3. Click the Two-step verification tab in the top menu (one.com).
  4. The tab has two sections. Skip one.com Companion app: it works by push approval, which Novaz doesn't do. Under Google Authenticator, click Activate and follow the steps (one.com).

one.com's help doesn't describe the screens after Activate: not whether you get a QR code or a key, nor how often the codes change. In Novaz:

  • For a QR code, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at it. If it's on the same iPhone, take a screenshot and use Choose a photo. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
  • For a text key, tap +, then Enter key manually. Type one.com as the Service, your contact email as the Account if you like, and the key as the Setup key. See What is a 2FA setup key?

Scan if you can: a QR code passes the code settings to Novaz, while a typed key always gets 6 digits every 30 seconds. If one.com asks for a code to finish, type the current one from Novaz.

From then on, the Control Panel asks for the code after your password (one.com). The help doesn't mention trusting a computer to skip it.

No backup codes

one.com's 2FA pages don't mention backup or recovery codes. The Recovery tab in account settings holds a recovery email and phone number, but one.com describes them for password resets only (one.com). Without that phone and without a Novaz backup (iCloud backup or a backup file), you'll need the support form below.

If one.com rejects your code

one.com's help has no advice on rejected codes. Check your iPhone's clock first: Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically. Novaz warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off.

If they stopped working right after you changed your contact email, that's the likely cause, and the help's only fix for a lockout is the support form. More causes are in Authenticator code not working?

Changing phones

one.com's Academy advises turning off 2FA whenever you change devices, so an old phone can't lock you out (one.com). While you still have the old iPhone, sign in, click Deactivate on the Two-step verification tab, then Activate again and add one.com to Novaz on the new iPhone. With a Novaz iCloud backup or backup file, you can restore your accounts on the new iPhone instead. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.

If you lose your authenticator

Without backup codes, one.com support has to remove 2FA for you. Its help links a Disable two-step verification form (a PDF) and says what to send with it (one.com, one.com):

  1. Fill out the form.
  2. Add a photo or scan of a valid photo ID of the subscription owner. one.com only needs the date of birth, full name, signature and expiry date, and asks you to cover the rest.
  3. If a company or association owns the subscription, add a company stamp, letterhead or registry excerpt.
  4. Sign the form and send it with the attachments to one.com support through the request form on help.one.com.

The ID has to be the owner's, so if you manage the account for someone else, you'll need them. The 2FA pages don't say how long support takes. See also Lost the phone with your authenticator app?

Turning 2FA off

On the Two-step verification tab, click Deactivate and enter your Control Panel password (one.com). Then open one.com in Novaz and tap Remove account.
