Brandwatch Influence (formerly Paladin) 2FA: how to set up an authenticator app

Novaz steps checked against version 1.0.5
On this page
If you used Paladin for influencer marketing, your account now lives at Brandwatch. Brandwatch bought Paladin in March 2022 and renamed it Influence, part of its Social Media Management products, and paladinsoftware.com now redirects to the Influence product page (Brandwatch). Influence keeps its own sign-in at home.influence.brandwatch.com, separate from the main Brandwatch login (Brandwatch).
For team members who are invited to Influence, two-factor authentication (2FA) is part of creating the account. You choose between an authenticator app and text messages, and Brandwatch recommends the app because SMS codes don't work in some countries (Brandwatch). This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone. Any authenticator app that scans a QR code works the same way.
How we checked this guide: the Brandwatch Influence steps come from the Influence help center and Brandwatch's product page, linked below, which we read on October 24, 2026. We haven't tested them on an Influence account, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.
Set up 2FA when you create your account
Brandwatch's help describes 2FA as a step in the invitation flow, not as a switch you turn on later (Brandwatch):
- In your invitation email, click Accept invitation. Enter your name and a password, then click Create Account.
- Enter your mobile phone number and click Send verification code. Influence texts you a code, and you need to enter it even if you plan to use an app for 2FA. If nothing arrives, use Try sending it again here, or Confirm that the phone number is correct after five minutes.
- On the 2FA screen, choose Authenticator app rather than text message.
- Influence shows a QR code. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at it. If the QR code is on the same iPhone, take a screenshot, tap +, then Choose a photo. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
- Type the code from Novaz in the Confirmation Code box and click Verify and enable.
Influence then signs you in. Its help names Google Authenticator and Authy as the apps to use, but the QR code is the standard kind any authenticator app reads. The article doesn't mention a text key you could type instead, so plan to scan the code, from a second screen or a screenshot.
Influencers who partner with a brand or agency sign in differently, with a connected social account or the email the network has on file (Brandwatch). The 2FA steps above are for team members.
What the help doesn't cover
The Influence help center doesn't say:
- whether you get backup or recovery codes,
- how often Influence asks for a code, or whether it remembers a device,
- whether signing in with Google or with a Brandwatch SMM account, both offered on the Influence sign-in page, still asks for the Influence code.
Since nothing points to backup codes, the phone number you verified is worth keeping current. Unless you've made a Novaz backup (iCloud backup or a backup file), its keys stay on your iPhone, so losing that phone means going through Support.
Reset 2FA in Settings
In Influence Settings, the My Account section has a 2-Factor Authentication tab. It shows whether 2FA is active, and a Reset 2FA button resets it (Brandwatch). The help doesn't describe what comes next, or a way to turn 2FA off for good. Expect to be asked to set it up again.
The same section's Password tab sends a text to your phone number before a password change goes through, so check the number on the Profile tab first.
Changing phones
Reset 2FA while you can still sign in on the old phone, then set up the app again on the new one. With Novaz's iCloud backup or a backup file, you can restore your accounts on the new iPhone instead; without one, every account needs a fresh setup. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.
If Influence rejects your code
The help center has no advice on rejected codes. Most of the time it's the iPhone's clock: go to Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Novaz warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. For other causes, see Authenticator code not working?
If you lose your authenticator
Brandwatch doesn't document a self-service recovery for Influence 2FA. The route it gives for help is Support. The in-app chat (question mark icon, then Ask support) only works once you're signed in, so if you're locked out, email influence-support@brandwatch.com. Brandwatch says email tickets usually get a reply within 4 to 24 hours (Brandwatch). Its help doesn't say what proof Support asks for. Write from the email address on your Influence account, and if your company has an Influence admin, let them know too.
