Choko.Link 2FA: how to set up an authenticator app

On this page
Choko.Link is a Ukrainian link-in-bio service: one page that collects your links, contacts, donation jars and stats (Choko.Link). You manage that page from a Choko.Link account, and you can protect the account with two-step verification. It's optional. The only method Choko.Link's help describes is an authenticator app, which asks for a 6-digit code after your password each time you sign in (Choko.Link).
The detail to plan around is the backup: Choko.Link gives you a single backup code, shows it only once, and using it turns two-step verification off. This guide walks through setup with Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone. Any authenticator app works the same way.
How we checked this guide: the Choko.Link steps come from Choko.Link's own help center, linked below, which we read on October 24, 2026. The 2FA article exists only in Ukrainian, so the English names in parentheses are our translations. We haven't tested the steps on a Choko.Link account, and if you use the site in English, a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.
Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app
Choko.Link's help article, last updated June 27, 2025, describes these steps (Choko.Link):
- Sign in to your account and open Налаштування (Settings).
- Scroll down to the Двоетапна перевірка (Two-step verification) section. If it isn't on yet, the section says no authenticator app is set up.
- Choko.Link shows a QR code. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at it. If the QR code is on the same iPhone, take a screenshot, tap +, then Choose a photo. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
- If you can't scan it, tap ключ налаштування (setup key) to see the key as text. In Novaz, tap +, then Enter key manually, type a name such as Choko.Link under Service, and paste the key into Setup key. See What is a 2FA setup key?
- Type the 6-digit code from Novaz into Код підтвердження (Verification code) and tap Підтвердити (Confirm).
- Choko.Link now shows your backup code. Save it somewhere safe, then tap Я зберіг код (I saved the code).
Choko.Link says its codes are 6 digits and change every 30 seconds, which matches what Novaz makes from a typed key. Scanning the QR code is still the simplest route.
The one backup code
Most services hand out a list of recovery codes. Choko.Link's article describes one backup code, and it can't show that code to you again after setup (Choko.Link). Write it down or store it in a password manager before you tap the final button.
The code also works differently from a typical recovery code. If you enter it at sign-in, Choko.Link lets you in and switches two-step verification off for the account. To stay protected, you then need to set it up again from Налаштування.
Keep it even if you back up Novaz. Without iCloud backup or a Novaz backup file, the keys exist only on your iPhone, so if that phone is gone, the backup code is what gets you back in. More in 2FA backup codes.
When Choko.Link asks for a code
Once two-step verification is on, Choko.Link asks for a code from your authenticator every time you sign in, right after your password (Choko.Link). Its help doesn't mention trusted devices, a "remember me" option, or codes for other actions.
If Choko.Link rejects your code
Choko.Link's help doesn't cover rejected codes. Since its codes are time-based, check the iPhone's clock first: Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically. Novaz also warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. Make sure you're reading the Choko.Link entry in Novaz and not another account's code. Other causes are in Authenticator code not working?
Changing phones
Choko.Link's help doesn't describe moving the authenticator to a new phone. If you have a Novaz iCloud backup or backup file, restore it on the new iPhone and the codes keep working. Without one, while you still have the old phone, sign in, turn two-step verification off, and set it up again with the new one (steps below). See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.
If you lose your authenticator
Enter your backup code when Choko.Link asks for the authenticator code. That signs you in and turns two-step verification off. Set it up again as soon as you have an authenticator app on hand (Choko.Link).
Choko.Link's help doesn't say what happens if you've lost both the phone and the backup code. Its account recovery article covers forgotten passwords: tap Відновити (Restore) under the form on the sign-in page and Choko.Link emails a temporary password to the address on your account (Choko.Link). That article doesn't mention two-step verification. When email doesn't work, it tells you to write to support and prove the page is yours in one of two ways:
- message support from a contact (Telegram, phone and so on) listed on your Choko.Link page, or
- send the receipt for your latest subscription payment as a PDF.
The help doesn't say whether support can reset two-step verification this way, or how long it takes. More in Lost the phone with your authenticator app?
Turning 2FA off
Open Налаштування and scroll to Двоетапна перевірка. When it's on, the section says the authenticator app is set up. Tap Вимкнути 2FA (Turn off 2FA) and confirm when Choko.Link asks whether to turn off two-step verification (Choko.Link). Then remove the account from Novaz: open it and tap Remove account.
