Paykassa 2FA: how to set up an authenticator app

On this page
Paykassa (paykassa.pro) is a crypto payment service: merchants use it to accept coins such as Bitcoin, Tether or Litecoin on a website and to send payouts, and the balance sits in your Paykassa account. That makes the account worth protecting with two-factor authentication (2FA), which Paykassa offers with an authenticator app. Paykassa's pages don't say that 2FA is required for anything.
Paykassa's current help pages mention 2FA only to explain how to switch it off. The setup steps come from a news post Paykassa published on August 16, 2018, which is no longer on its site. We use Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone in the steps, but any authenticator app works the same way.
How we checked this guide: the Paykassa steps come from Paykassa's own pages, linked below, which we read on October 24, 2026. The setup article has been removed from paykassa.pro, so we read it in archived copies on web.archive.org (English and Russian, both saved in June 2021). We haven't tested anything on a Paykassa account, and the site has been redesigned since 2018, so labels may differ. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.
Your Recovery code comes first
Before you turn on 2FA, find your Recovery code. Paykassa gives it to you once, when you register, and its FAQ calls it "the only way to confirm ownership of your account" (Paykassa). The same code lets you change the account's email or switch off 2FA.
A few things about it are unusual (Paykassa):
- It's a single code, not a list of backup codes.
- It doesn't expire after use. You can use it again and again.
- You can't change it. The only way to get a new one is to open a new account.
- Anyone who has it can take control of the account and the money in it, so never share it.
If you no longer have it, Paykassa says you've lost the right to the account. Don't set up 2FA until you've stored the code somewhere safe, away from your phone.
Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app
The 2018 article names Google Authenticator, but it describes a standard QR code with codes that change every 30 seconds, which Novaz can read (Paykassa, archived):
- Sign in to your personal account on paykassa.pro and open the settings.
- Paykassa shows a QR code and a 16-character code you can type instead. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at the screen. If you're on the same iPhone, take a screenshot and use Choose a photo instead. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
- If you can't scan, tap +, then Enter key manually in Novaz. Type "Paykassa" as the Service, your email as the Account if you like, and the 16-character code as the Setup key. See What is a 2FA setup key?
- Back on Paykassa, enter your username, your password and the current code from Novaz, then press the button the article calls integrate.
The article doesn't name the settings tab, so look for a security or 2FA section.
Signing in afterwards
The article describes what changes: at sign-in you type your username, your password and the code from your phone. Paykassa's pages don't mention trusted devices or other places it asks for a code.
If Paykassa rejects your code
Paykassa's pages don't cover rejected codes. The usual cause is the iPhone's clock, so open Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Novaz warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. More causes are in Authenticator code not working?
If you lose your authenticator
Paykassa has a Disable 2FA form at paykassa.pro/en/reset_2fa/, which its FAQ points to for switching 2FA off (Paykassa, Paykassa). It asks for three things:
- the Email on your account,
- your Password,
- your Recovery code.
Then you press Reset. Paykassa doesn't say how long it takes. Its FAQ does say that after you deactivate 2FA, a change of email address may fail for 24 hours, so wait a day before changing it.
If you've lost both the authenticator and the Recovery code, Paykassa doesn't describe another way back in. Its support team is at support@paykassa.pro and on Telegram as @paykassa_support_bot (Paykassa), but given what the FAQ says about the Recovery code, don't count on them restoring access. See Lost the phone with your authenticator app?
Changing phones or turning 2FA off
Paykassa doesn't describe moving 2FA to a new phone or switching it off from the settings. The Disable 2FA form above is the one route it documents for turning it off. After that, the 2018 steps are the only description of setting it up again.
With Novaz's iCloud backup or a backup file, you can restore your accounts on the new iPhone. Either way, keep the old phone until Paykassa works on the new one. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.
