Poli Systems 2FA: how to set up an authenticator app

Novaz steps checked against version 1.0.5
On this page
Poli Systems is a Swiss hosting company that sells web hosting, VPS servers, S3 storage, domains and game servers. You manage all of that from one client area it calls the Manager, at polisystems.ch/manager (Poli Systems). Two-factor authentication (2FA) for the Manager is optional, but Poli Systems says it strongly recommends turning it on (Poli Systems). The only method its wiki describes is a time-based code from an authenticator app, which it lists as Time Based Tokens. This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone, but any authenticator app works the same way.
How we checked this guide: the Poli Systems steps come from Poli Systems' own wiki, linked below, which we read on October 21, 2026, in English and in French. We haven't tested them on a Poli Systems account, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.
Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app
The wiki article "Two-factor authentication on the Manager" gives these steps, with a screenshot for each one (Poli Systems):
- Sign in to the Poli Systems Manager with your email address and password.
- Open Account Security / Your profile (the wiki names it both ways).
- In the right-hand section, click Security Settings, then Click here to enable.
- Under Time Based Tokens, select Get Started >>.
- The Manager shows a QR code. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at it. If the Manager is open on the same iPhone, take a screenshot first, then tap + and Choose a photo. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
- If you can't scan it, the wiki says you can type the code in by hand instead. In Novaz, tap +, then Enter key manually, type a name such as Poli Systems as the Service, and paste the key as the Setup key. See What is a 2FA setup key?
- Type the current code from Novaz into Enter identification code and press Submit.
- The Manager then shows your backup code. Write it down before you leave the page.
The wiki doesn't say how many digits the codes have or how often they change. Scanning the QR code is the safer choice, because it passes those settings to your app. A key typed by hand in Novaz always gets 6 digits every 30 seconds.
A second device
The wiki notes that if you want codes on more than one device, you scan the same QR code with each of them during setup (Poli Systems). It doesn't describe a way to get the QR code back later. If you want a spare, add it at step 5, before you press Submit. A Novaz iCloud backup or backup file can carry the key to another iPhone later, but any other app or device has to scan the code in the same moment.
Keep the backup code safe
Poli Systems gives you a backup code, in the singular, for the day you can't reach your phone. Its advice is to keep it on paper in a safe place (Poli Systems). The wiki doesn't say whether the code still works after one use or whether you can make a new one. Treat it as your only way back in without support, and don't store it on the same iPhone as Novaz. More on this in 2FA backup codes.
Signing in afterwards
On the Manager login page, enter your email address and password and press Login. A Two-Factor Authentication step follows, where you type the current code from Novaz (Poli Systems). The wiki doesn't mention trusted devices or a way to skip the code on a familiar computer.
If Poli Systems rejects your code
The wiki has no troubleshooting for rejected codes. Most often the iPhone's clock has drifted: open Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Novaz also warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. Other causes are in Authenticator code not working?
If you lose your authenticator
Sign in with your backup code. The wiki doesn't describe any other recovery route, what proof Poli Systems asks for, or how long a reset takes. For problems with 2FA, it simply says to contact Poli Systems. The Manager's Open Ticket page, which you can open without signing in, has a Support department (Poli Systems). The site footer also lists a Discord server and a phone number, +41 21 512 41 10 (Poli Systems). See also Lost the phone with your authenticator app?
Changing phones
Poli Systems doesn't document moving 2FA to a new phone. With a Novaz iCloud backup or backup file, you restore your accounts on the new iPhone and the codes keep working. Without one, a way that uses only the documented steps: while the old phone still works, turn 2FA off (below), then turn it on again and scan the new QR code with the new phone. Write down the backup code the Manager shows at the end of that setup. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.
Turn 2FA off
Go back to Security Settings the same way as above and press the red Click here to Disable button. Enter your password, press Disable Two-Factor Authentication, and the Manager confirms the change (Poli Systems). Afterwards, open the Poli Systems entry in Novaz and tap Remove account.
