Serverspace is a cloud hosting provider, and its control panel is where you create and manage your virtual servers, pay for them and open support tickets. Someone who gets into that panel can reach your servers, so a second sign-in step is worth adding. Two-factor authentication is optional. Serverspace's current tutorial covers one method, a six-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone (Serverspace). An older Serverspace news post from 2020 also announced text-message codes as a second choice (Serverspace).

The steps below use Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone. Serverspace names Google Authenticator and Authy as examples, but Novaz or any other authenticator app works the same way.

How we checked this guide: the Serverspace steps come from Serverspace's own tutorials and news page, linked below, which we read on October 21, 2026. The screenshots in the newest tutorial didn't load for us, so the button labels below come from the screenshots in Serverspace's older tutorial. We haven't tested them on a Serverspace account, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.

Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app

Serverspace's tutorial, last updated in February 2025, gives this route (Serverspace):

  1. Sign in to the Serverspace control panel.
  2. In the menu on the left, open Settings, then the Security tab.
  3. In the two-factor authentication box, click Enable. The older tutorial shows this option as Through app (recommended) (Serverspace).
  4. A window called Authentication through application opens with a QR code. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at the screen.
  5. If you're using the control panel on the same iPhone, take a screenshot of the QR code, then tap + and Choose a photo in Novaz. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
  6. Type the six-digit code that Novaz shows into the field under the QR code and click Send.

Serverspace's pages don't mention a text key you could type instead of scanning, and the setup window in its screenshot shows only the QR code. Plan to scan it. Once it's on, the Security tab shows that two-factor authentication is connected through an application.

Signing in afterwards

Serverspace says that once the feature is on, every sign-in to your account asks for a code from the app on top of your email and password (Serverspace). In the older tutorial's screenshot, that screen is titled The second stage of authentication, with a field for the Authenticator Code and a Log in button.

No documented backup codes

Neither Serverspace tutorial shows backup or recovery codes in the setup steps. The FAQ at the end of the Google Authenticator tutorial mentions keeping backup codes in general terms, but it doesn't say that the Serverspace control panel gives you any. Its pages also don't describe another way back in.

That matters with Novaz: without iCloud backup or a backup file, its keys exist only on your iPhone. Before you rely on it, make sure you know how you'd reach Serverspace if that phone were lost (see below). If the panel does give you backup codes, save them in a password manager or on paper, away from your phone. More on this in 2FA backup codes.

If Serverspace rejects your code

Serverspace's pages don't cover rejected codes. The most common cause is a phone clock that has drifted: on your iPhone, open Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Novaz warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. For other causes, see Authenticator code not working?

Changing phones

Serverspace doesn't describe moving the authenticator to a new phone. The documented controls are only Enable and Disable on the Security tab. So, while you still have the old phone, sign in, turn two-factor authentication off, and turn it on again with the new phone. If you have a Novaz iCloud backup or backup file, you can restore your accounts on the new iPhone instead. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.

If you lose your authenticator

Serverspace's tutorials don't explain how to recover an account when the authenticator is gone, what proof support asks for, or how long it takes. Its contact page sends support requests through a ticket inside the control panel, which you can't open if you can't sign in. The same page has a public contact form, a phone number and the company's address (Serverspace). Those are the routes left to try. See also Lost the phone with your authenticator app?

Turning 2FA off

Go to Settings, open the Security tab and click Disable, then confirm. The older tutorial shows a Confirmation of action window with a Confirm button (Serverspace). Serverspace advises keeping the feature on and calls it "an important additional security mechanism" (Serverspace). After you turn it off, remove the entry from Novaz: open it and tap Remove account.
