SSLTrust is an Australian seller of SSL/TLS, code signing and email certificates. You manage your orders, certificates and account funds in the SSLTrust Manager, so it's worth protecting. Two-factor authentication (2FA) there is optional, and the only method SSLTrust documents is a code from an authenticator app on your phone, which it calls a pin. After you set it up, you also get a single Emergency Code for the day you can't reach your phone (SSLTrust).

SSLTrust's help suggests Google Authenticator, but any authenticator app that reads a QR code works. This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone.

How we checked this guide: the SSLTrust steps come from SSLTrust's own help page and its screenshots, linked below, which we read on October 24, 2026. We haven't tested them on an SSLTrust account, and the page shows no date, so the Manager may look a little different now. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.

Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app

SSLTrust's help page describes these steps (SSLTrust):

  1. Sign in to your SSLTrust Manager account.
  2. Open the user menu at the top right. In SSLTrust's screenshot it's the button with your name, such as Hello, User!.
  3. Choose Two-Factor Authentication, near the bottom of the menu, just above Logout.
  4. On the page that opens, click the blue Enable Two-Factor Authentication button.
  5. SSLTrust shows a QR code. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at it. If the QR code is on the same iPhone, take a screenshot and use Choose a photo instead. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
  6. If you can't scan it, SSLTrust's screenshot shows a text key under the QR code, which it calls a secret. In Novaz, tap +, then Enter key manually, type a name such as SSLTrust in Service, and type the secret as the Setup key. See What is a 2FA setup key?
  7. Type the code from Novaz into the Enter your code field and click Verify Code.

Once the code is accepted, 2FA is on and SSLTrust shows your Emergency Code. Save it before you leave the page (next section).

SSLTrust says its pin changes every 30 seconds, which matches what Novaz uses for a key typed by hand. Scanning the QR code is still the simplest route.

SSLTrust's help then suggests signing out and back in, to check that the Manager now asks for the pin.

Keep the Emergency Code

SSLTrust gives you one Emergency Code, not a list of backup codes. Its help says to "print this out and keep it in a safe place," and that you can use it when you can't get a pin from your phone (SSLTrust). The page doesn't say whether the code works more than once or whether you can get a new one.

Keep it even if you back up Novaz. Without iCloud backup or a backup file, Novaz's keys exist only on your iPhone, so a lost or reset phone takes the SSLTrust key with it. Keep the code on paper or in a password manager, somewhere other than that iPhone. More in 2FA backup codes.

When SSLTrust asks for the pin

SSLTrust's help describes the pin as part of signing in to the Manager: after your password, you get a field for the current code from your app (SSLTrust). It doesn't mention a way to trust a device or skip the pin, so expect to need your phone every time you sign in.

If SSLTrust rejects your code

SSLTrust's own advice is to check your phone's date and time. It says the phone should take its time from the network or a time server, not from a time you set by hand (SSLTrust). On iPhone, that's Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically. Novaz also warns you when the iPhone's clock is 15 seconds or more off.

Also make sure you're typing the code from the SSLTrust entry and that it hasn't just changed. Other causes are in Authenticator code not working?

Changing phones or turning 2FA off

SSLTrust's help page doesn't describe turning 2FA off or moving it to a new phone. If you've turned on iCloud backup or exported a backup file in Novaz, restore your accounts on the new iPhone and the SSLTrust codes keep working. Without one, you'll need to set SSLTrust up again on the new phone. Do it while you still have the old phone and can sign in. If the Two-Factor Authentication page doesn't give you a way to start over, ask SSLTrust support. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.

If you lose your authenticator

Sign in with your Emergency Code. If you don't have it, SSLTrust's help says to open a support ticket for any problems with 2FA (SSLTrust). Its contact page has a form with a Support department and lists support@ssltrust.com.au. It says the team aims to reply within 24 hours (SSLTrust).

SSLTrust doesn't say what proof it asks for before it removes 2FA from an account. Contact them from the email address on your account. The form also has an Order Number field, so have one of your order numbers ready. More in Lost the phone with your authenticator app?
