Demio 2FA: how to set up an authenticator app

Novaz steps checked against version 1.0.5

Demio is a webinar platform, and your Demio login is what you use to schedule events, run the event room and manage your team. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is optional and works per person: the account owner and every team member each turn it on for their own login, from their own Profile settings (Demio, Demio). Demio's only documented method is an authenticator app on your phone. There are no text-message codes, and its help mentions no backup codes. This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone, but any authenticator app works the same way.
How we checked this guide: the Demio steps come from Demio's own help center, including the screenshots in its articles, which we read on October 21, 2026. We haven't tested them on a Demio account, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.
Check your email address first
Demio's 2FA article was last updated in July 2023, and its screenshots are older, so the screens you see today may look a little different. One piece of its advice matters more than the rest: before you turn on 2FA, make sure the email address on your Demio profile is one you can still read, and change it if not (Demio). That address is how Demio support recognizes you if you ever lose your codes (see the last section).
Demio also notes that codes only come from an app on your phone. You can't make one on your computer.
Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app
The steps below follow Demio's help article and its screenshots (Demio):
- Sign in to Demio, click your name in the top right corner, and choose Profile. You can also open Settings and pick the Profile tab.
- In the Two-Factor Authentication box, click Enable.
- A window called Setup Two-Factor Authentication opens. Under 1. Setup your authenticator, Demio shows a QR code. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at it. If Demio is open on the same iPhone, take a screenshot, then tap + and Choose a photo. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
- If you can't scan the code, Demio shows a text key under Or enter the following code manually:. In Novaz, tap +, then Enter key manually, type "Demio" as the Service, your email as the Account if you like, and the key as the Setup key. More in What is a 2FA setup key?
- Under 2. Confirm your authentication code, type the 6-digit code Novaz shows.
- Click Enable 2FA. (No, never mind closes the window without turning it on.)
Your Profile page now shows Enabled next to Two-Factor Authentication.
Demio's help doesn't say how often its codes change. Scanning the QR code is the safer route, since the code carries those settings to your app.
Signing in afterwards
From now on, after your email and password, Demio shows a Verify your login page. Type the current code from Novaz and click Login. Demio's article says you'll need a code every time you log in, and that sessions end on their own after two weeks, so expect to be asked at least that often (Demio).
If Demio rejects your code
Demio's help has no advice for a code that doesn't work. The usual cause is the iPhone's clock. Open Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Novaz also warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. Check that you're reading the Demio entry in Novaz, and type the code before it changes. More causes are in Authenticator code not working?
Moving to a new iPhone
Demio doesn't describe a way to move 2FA to another phone. What it does document is turning 2FA off and back on, and a fresh start each time (Demio). So, while you still have the old phone, click Disable in your Profile settings, then click Enable and scan the new QR code with the new phone. If you've turned on iCloud backup in Novaz or exported a backup file, you can skip that: restore your accounts on the new iPhone and Demio's codes keep working. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.
If you lose your authenticator
With no backup codes documented, Demio support is the way back in. The Verify your login page has a Contact Demio support link, and the help article says to email support@demio.com from the email address on your Demio account. Support then starts an account recovery process with you (Demio). Demio doesn't say what else it asks for or how long recovery takes.
Once you're back in, set 2FA up again from the start. See also Lost the phone with your authenticator app?
Turning 2FA off
Go to your Profile settings and click Disable in the Two-Factor Authentication box. Demio recommends keeping it on. If you turn it on again later, you scan a new QR code, so remove the old Demio entry in Novaz: open it and tap Remove account (Demio).
