My Kaspersky is the account behind your Kaspersky subscriptions, devices and Password Manager, and the same sign-in works on Kaspersky's other sites and apps (Kaspersky). Kaspersky calls 2FA two-step verification. It's optional, and the second step is a text-message code or a code from an authenticator app.

The catch is the order. Kaspersky says that, for now, authenticator apps "cannot be used on My Kaspersky as a standalone verification method" (Kaspersky). Your phone number goes first, and the app is added on top. This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone, but any authenticator app works the same way.

How we checked this guide: the Kaspersky steps come from Kaspersky's own help pages, linked below, which we read on October 20, 2026. We haven't tested them on a Kaspersky account, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.

Before you start

Two things change once two-step verification is on (Kaspersky):

  • Your security question is turned off for good.
  • Older Kaspersky apps without two-step support may fail to connect to your account. Kaspersky emails you if so; update them from the Downloads tab.

Step 1: add your phone number

Kaspersky's steps for the phone (Kaspersky):

  1. On My Kaspersky, click the link with your email address in the upper-right corner, then click manage your account.
  2. Open the Security tab and click Set up.
  3. Enter your password, type your phone number and click Get code.
  4. Enter the code from the text message.

Step 2: add the authenticator app

Then the app (Kaspersky):

  1. In manage your account, open the Security tab and enter your password.
  2. In the Authenticator app section, click Set up.
  3. Kaspersky shows a QR code and a secret key. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code. If the page is on the same iPhone, take a screenshot and use Choose a photo instead. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
  4. To type the key instead, tap +, then Enter key manually, and paste the secret key as the Setup key. See What is a 2FA setup key?
  5. Enter the 6-digit code from Novaz on My Kaspersky.

Kaspersky accepts any app that makes 6-digit TOTP codes, and its codes change every 30 seconds (Kaspersky, Kaspersky). That's what Novaz uses for a typed key, so either way works.

Labels may differ on the Kaspersky Account site, account.uis.kaspersky.com. Its older help, from December 2024, uses an Additional protection slider and an Enable authenticator app link instead (Kaspersky). We follow the newer My Kaspersky pages.

Kaspersky's example apps include its own Password Manager, which syncs codes through My Kaspersky itself (Kaspersky). Kaspersky doesn't warn against using it here, but a separate app keeps the second step outside the account.

When Kaspersky asks for a code

Once the app is set up, the My Kaspersky sign-in page asks for the app code by default. Use code from SMS switches to a text message (Kaspersky). You also need a code to reset a forgotten password (Kaspersky) and when a Kaspersky app connects to your account (Kaspersky).

No backup codes

Kaspersky's help doesn't mention backup or recovery codes. Your phone number is the fallback, so keep it current with the pencil icon in the Phone number field on the Security tab. If you turn off the phone method, the authenticator app is turned off with it (Kaspersky).

Kaspersky also suggests an authenticator on a device other than your phone, so a lost phone doesn't lock you out (Kaspersky). You add the same QR code or secret key to each device during setup (Kaspersky), so with Novaz on your iPhone, the second device needs another app, set up at the same time. If you keep a photo of the QR code or a copy of the key, as Kaspersky mentions, guard it like a password.

If Kaspersky rejects your code

Kaspersky's advice is to check that your device's time matches your time zone (Kaspersky). On iPhone, open Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Novaz also warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. More causes are in Authenticator code not working?

Changing phones

To add Kaspersky to a new phone, turn the authenticator app off and back on to get a new QR code and secret key (Kaspersky). Do it while the old phone still works. If you have a Novaz iCloud backup or backup file, you don't need to: restore it on the new iPhone and the Kaspersky entry comes with it. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.

If you lose your authenticator

Sign in with Use code from SMS instead. If the lost phone also had your number, Kaspersky warns you might not be able to sign in (Kaspersky). Your carrier can usually move the number to a new SIM.

Beyond that, Kaspersky points you to Customer Service (Kaspersky), without saying what proof it asks for or how long it takes. More in Lost the phone with your authenticator app?
