Your Nexon account is what you sign in with at Nexon.com and in the Nexon Launcher. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is optional. Every account already has email verification, and you can add an authenticator app, text-message (SMS) codes, or both (Nexon). SMS is only offered in Nexon's Global (WEST) region for now (Nexon). This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone, but any authenticator app works the same way.

How we checked this guide: the Nexon steps come from Nexon's own Player Support articles, linked below, which we read on October 20, 2026. We haven't tested them on a Nexon account, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.

First, check how you sign in

Nexon's 2FA only applies when you sign in with your email address. Its help page states the catch plainly: "Social logins bypass both 2FA and trusted device verification" (Nexon). That means Google, Facebook and Apple.

If you created your account with one of them, set a Nexon password and sign in with your email. A linked social login keeps working, and keeps skipping the code, until you remove it under Account Settings > Linked Account > Social Login > Delink (Nexon).

Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app

From Nexon's setup article (Nexon):

  1. Sign in at Nexon.com with your email address.
  2. From your account menu, click Account Settings, then Password & Security.
  3. Under Security, next to Authenticator App, click Enable. (The Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) window Nexon may show at sign-in has the same Enable button.)
  4. Enter the verification code Nexon sends to your email or phone. The Enable Authenticator window opens.
  5. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code. If the page is on the same iPhone, take a screenshot, tap +, then Choose a photo (how).
  6. Or click Can't scan the QR code to get a 16-character setup key. In Novaz, tap +, then Enter key manually, and type it as the Setup key (what it is).
  7. Type the 6-digit code from Novaz and click Enable.
  8. On Authenticator Successfully Enabled, click Generate Backup Codes (recommended) or Close.

Typing the key is fine: Nexon uses 6-digit codes that change every 30 seconds (Nexon), the same as Novaz makes from a typed key. If SMS is also on, the newest method becomes primary; Set Primary switches it (Nexon).

Save your backup codes

You get 10 single-use codes of 8 digits. Making a new set cancels all the old ones (Nexon). To make them later, click Get Backup Codes next to Authenticator App, enter your password, confirm, then click Download.

Unless you've made an iCloud backup or a backup file in Novaz, its keys exist only on your iPhone, so these codes are your spare way in. Keep them off that phone, and note which ones you've used. See 2FA backup codes. To use one, click Use another method on the Verify Your Account window, then Backup code.

When Nexon asks for a code

At every sign-in on Nexon.com or in the Launcher, with two exceptions (Nexon):

  • Remember this device trusts that device for 60 days. Review the list under Trusted Devices > Manage (Nexon). Skip it on shared computers.
  • Login automatically in the future, in the Launcher, skips both password and code until you sign out or change your 2FA settings.

If Nexon rejects your code

Nexon lists four causes (Nexon): a typo (6 digits, no spaces), a code that expired as you typed (wait for the next one), a code from another account in the app, and a clock out of sync. For the clock, turn on Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically. Novaz warns you when it's 15 seconds or more off. More in Authenticator code not working?

Moving to a new iPhone

Nexon has no transfer. You turn the authenticator off and on again, and a disabled one can't be reused, so you'll scan a new QR code (Nexon). With the old phone still in hand, click Disable next to Authenticator App, confirm with a code, enable it again from the new iPhone, and make new backup codes. Then delete the old entry: open it in Novaz and tap Remove account. With Novaz's iCloud backup or a backup file, you can skip this and restore your accounts on the new iPhone instead (details).

If you lose your authenticator

  1. Backup code. Once in, Nexon says to disable the authenticator, set it up again and make new codes (Nexon).
  2. Another method. Pick SMS under Use another method if you set it up. The SMS FAQ also lists email there (Nexon); the authenticator pages don't.
  3. Trusted device or Launcher auto-login. The FAQ says these get you in to turn the authenticator off (Nexon), though the disable steps still ask for a code.
  4. Self-service. Trouble logging in on the sign-in page has a No Access to Authenticator App option (Nexon).
  5. Player Support. If you can't sign in to turn 2FA off, contact support (Nexon). Live chat handles 2FA daily, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time; have your email, game, character name and server ready (Nexon).

Chat and tickets both require signing in to a Nexon account. For hacked accounts, Nexon says to make a second account to file the ticket (Nexon). Its 2FA pages don't say whether that covers lockouts, or how long a reset takes. If your phone was out of your hands, Nexon also suggests changing your password (Nexon). See Lost the phone with your authenticator app?

Turning 2FA off

Click Disable next to Authenticator App, then Disable again, and enter a code on Verify Your Account (Nexon). Then remove the entry from Novaz.
