OMGSERV 2FA: how to set up an authenticator app
By the Novaz team · Updated October 29, 2026
Novaz steps checked against version 1.0.5
On this page
OMGSERV is a French host for game servers (Minecraft, ARK, BungeeCord), voice servers (TeamSpeak, Mumble) and VPSs. Your OMGSERV account is the client area where you order, renew and pay for them. Two-factor authentication (2FA), which OMGSERV calls double authentification, is optional. The only kind its help describes is a 6-digit code from an authenticator app, and its tutorial says it works with Google Authenticator on a phone or an authenticator extension in Chrome (OMGSERV). Any app that makes these codes works. This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone.
One thing sets OMGSERV apart: it gives you no backup codes. The setup page's only safety net is the text key under the QR code, which it suggests you store somewhere safe in case you lose your phone. Read the section on that key before you finish setup.
How we checked this guide: the OMGSERV steps come from OMGSERV's own FAQ and tutorials, linked below, including the screenshots in its 2FA article, which we read on October 24, 2026. The article exists only in French, so we give the French labels with a translation. We haven't tested them on an OMGSERV account, so a label may differ slightly, and the English version of the client area may use other words. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.
Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app
OMGSERV's tutorial describes these steps (OMGSERV):
- Sign in to the OMGSERV site and open your client area.
- At the top of the page, click your email address to open the account menu, then click Sécurité (security).
- On the Double authentification tab, the page says 2FA is currently off. Click Activer la double authentification (turn on two-factor authentication).
- OMGSERV shows a QR code and, under it, a key made of letters and digits. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at the code. If the page is open on the same iPhone, take a screenshot and use Choose a photo instead. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
- If scanning doesn't work, type the key instead. In Novaz, tap +, then Enter key manually, type OMGSERV as the Service, and enter the key as the Setup key. The key in OMGSERV's screenshot is 16 characters long, which Novaz accepts. See What is a 2FA setup key?
- Type the 6-digit code from Novaz into the Code OTP field and click Activer la double authentification again. OMGSERV's tutorial warns that each code is valid for only 30 seconds, so enter it while Novaz still shows it.
When it worked, the Double authentification tab says 2FA is on for your account. The same Sécurité page also has a Clés SSH (SSH keys) tab, which is a separate setting.
Save the key before you leave the page
OMGSERV's help doesn't mention backup or recovery codes. The text on its setup screen recommends keeping the key in a safe place, for example in case you lose your phone (OMGSERV). That key is what generates your codes, so anyone who has it can make them. Store it like a password: in a password manager or on paper, not in a photo on the same phone.
With Novaz, an iCloud backup or a backup file can also bring OMGSERV to a new iPhone. Without one, the key you saved is the only way to add OMGSERV to another phone without going through support.
Signing in afterwards
Once 2FA is on, OMGSERV asks for a code from your app each time you sign in to the site (OMGSERV). After you enter your password, a page titled Double authentification appears. Type the current code from Novaz in Code OTP and click Connexion (sign in). OMGSERV's help doesn't mention trusted devices or a way to skip the code on a computer you use often.
If OMGSERV rejects your code
OMGSERV's only advice is timing: a code lasts 30 seconds, so type the one on screen and don't reuse an older one. If fresh codes still fail, the usual cause is the iPhone's clock. Open Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Novaz warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. Other causes are in Authenticator code not working?
Changing phones
OMGSERV's help doesn't describe moving 2FA to a new phone. If you saved the key, add it to Novaz on the new iPhone with Enter key manually, and check that the codes match before you wipe the old one. If you didn't, turn 2FA off on the old phone (below) and set it up again on the new one. If you have a Novaz iCloud backup or backup file, restoring it on the new iPhone works too. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.
If you lose your authenticator
If you kept the key, add it to any authenticator app and sign in as usual. Without it, OMGSERV's help doesn't describe any recovery. Its assistance page lists official technical support, which you reach by opening a ticket from your client area, and a community Discord where, it says, no OMGSERV staff take part (OMGSERV). The page doesn't say how to reach support when you can't sign in, what proof OMGSERV asks for, or how long it takes. Don't share your account details on the community Discord. See also Lost the phone with your authenticator app?
Turning 2FA off
The tutorial's screenshots show the way: open Sécurité again, type a current code in Code OTP on the Double authentification tab, and click Désactiver la double authentification (turn off two-factor authentication) (OMGSERV). You need a working code to do it. Then remove the entry from Novaz: open it and tap Remove account.
