Pachca 2FA: how to set up an authenticator app

Novaz steps checked against version 1.0.5

Pachca (Пачка in Russian) is a Russian messenger for work teams, where a company's chats, threads and calls live. You normally sign in with no password at all: you type your email address and Pachca emails you a one-time code (Pachca). Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second code from an authenticator app on top of that email code.
A few things about Pachca's 2FA are worth knowing before you start (Pachca):
- It's only for email accounts. Pachca's help says you can turn it on only if you registered with an email address. Pachca also lets you sign up through VK or Yandex, and by that rule those accounts can't use it (Pachca).
- It's your choice, not your employer's. The owner of a workspace can't switch it on for you. Admins can, however, filter the Участники (Members) list to see who uses it and who doesn't (Pachca).
- It covers every workspace at once. 2FA belongs to your account, so you can't have it on in one workspace and off in another (Pachca).
An authenticator app is the only second step Pachca documents. This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone. Novaz isn't on Pachca's list of suggested apps, but the setup is a standard QR code or key, so any authenticator app works the same way.
How we checked this guide: the Pachca steps come from Pachca's own help center and website, linked below, which we read on October 21, 2026. The help pages are in Russian, so we give Pachca's labels in Russian with our translation. Pachca added an English interface in February 2026 (Pachca), but its help doesn't show the English labels. We haven't tested the steps on a Pachca account, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.
Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app
- In Pachca, click your name in the bottom left corner, then Открыть профиль (Open profile).
- Switch to the Аккаунт (Account) tab at the top. This is where Pachca keeps account-wide settings such as 2FA (Pachca).
- In the Двухфакторная аутентификация (2FA) (Two-factor authentication) block, click Настроить генерацию кодов (Set up code generation) (Pachca).
- Pachca shows a QR code. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at it. If Pachca is open on the same iPhone, take a screenshot, tap +, then Choose a photo. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
- If you'd rather type it, Pachca also offers a setup key (ключ настройки). In Novaz, tap +, then Enter key manually, and fill in Service (Pachca), Account (your email, optional) and Setup key. More in What is a 2FA setup key?
- Novaz shows a code right away. Back in Pachca, click Продолжить (Continue) and type that code.
That completes the setup. Pachca's codes change every 30 seconds (Pachca), which matches what Novaz makes from a typed key.
The 2FA article, from November 2024, just says "your profile". The Аккаунт tab comes from the accounts article and a 2025 guide for new employees (Pachca).
Get your backup codes right away
Pachca's help describes backup codes as a separate step after setup, so do it as soon as you're done. In the same Двухфакторная аутентификация (2FA) block, click Получить резервные коды (Get backup codes) and enter a current code from Novaz. Pachca then shows a list (Pachca).
- Each code works once.
- When you run out, you can ask for a new list.
- A new list cancels every code from the previous one, so keep only the latest.
Without a Novaz backup (iCloud backup or a backup file), the keys exist only on your iPhone, so these codes are your way back in if it's lost. Keep them off that iPhone, in a password manager or on paper. See 2FA backup codes.
Signing in afterwards
After you enter your email address and confirm it with the emailed code, Pachca shows a screen asking for a code. Type the one from Novaz, or one of your backup codes (Pachca). Pachca asks for its email code when you sign in to your account, not each time you open the app (Pachca), and the 2FA code follows that email step.
If Pachca rejects your code
Pachca's help has no advice for rejected codes. Make sure you're typing the app code, not the email code, which comes on the screen before it. Then check your iPhone's clock: Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically. Novaz warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. More causes in Authenticator code not working?
If you lose your authenticator
Use a backup code on the sign-in screen. Once you're in, turn 2FA off and set it up again on your new phone (see below).
Pachca's help doesn't describe what happens if you have neither the app nor a backup code: no recovery form, no list of proof, no time frame. The route left is Pachca's support team. Its contacts page lists Telegram, MAX, a VK group and team@pachca.com (Pachca). See also Lost the phone with your authenticator app?
New phone, or turning 2FA off
To turn it off, click Отключить проверку (Turn off verification) in the Двухфакторная аутентификация (2FA) block, enter a code from the app or a backup code, and confirm (Pachca).
Pachca doesn't describe a separate way to move 2FA to a new phone. Turning it off and setting it up again, while the old phone still works, gets you there. If you use Novaz's iCloud backup or keep a backup file, you can restore your accounts on the new iPhone instead; without one, the new iPhone needs that fresh setup. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.
