Sailthru is the email and mobile marketing platform that teams sign in to at my.sailthru.com. There's no switch to look for: Sailthru says multifactor authentication (MFA) is turned on for accounts automatically, and the setup happens the first time you log in after that. The only second factor its help describes is a one-time code from an authenticator app, with no text-message option (Sailthru).

Sailthru is now part of Zeta Global, and its help center has moved from getstarted.sailthru.com to Zeta's site. Old links to the MFA pages no longer open.

This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone. Any authenticator app that can scan a QR code works the same way.

How we checked this guide: the Sailthru steps come from Sailthru's own help pages on Zeta Global's help center, linked below, including the screenshots in them, which we read on October 21, 2026. We haven't tested them on a Sailthru account. The screenshots date from 2020, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.

Who has to set it up

  • Password users: everyone who logs in with a username and password goes through the setup at their next login.
  • Single sign-on users: if your company signs you in to Sailthru through SSO, Sailthru says you don't need to do anything (Sailthru). Your company's own sign-in handles it.

The overview page also says to contact Support if MFA hasn't been turned on for your account yet and you want it.

Set up the authenticator app at your first login

Have Novaz open before you start. Sailthru's help is clear that you need to scan a QR code, and it doesn't describe a text key you could type instead (Sailthru).

  1. Go to my.sailthru.com, enter your username and password, and select Log In.
  2. A screen titled Login to Sailthru shows a QR code and a box labeled Enter your passcode here.
  3. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at the code. If you're on the same iPhone, take a screenshot, tap +, then Choose a photo. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
  4. Type the code Novaz shows into the passcode box and select the round arrow button at the bottom.
  5. Sailthru shows a recovery code. Copy it or take a screenshot, keep it somewhere safe, then tick I have safely recorded this code.
  6. A confirmation screen tells you you're all set. Select Continue.

Sailthru's page doesn't say how often its codes change. Scanning the QR code passes the right settings to Novaz, so you don't need to know.

Keep the recovery code safe

The setup screenshot shows one recovery code, for logging in without your device. Sailthru's text talks about codes in the plural, so you may see more than one (Sailthru). If your phone is gone and you have no Novaz backup, this code is how you get in. Store it in a password manager or on paper, not only in your phone's photos. More in 2FA backup codes.

Logging in afterwards

Every login asks for your username, your password, and then a 6-digit code from the app. The code screen has a Remember this browser checkbox. Sailthru says ticking it keeps you logged in longer. It also warns that your session may occasionally ask for an extra MFA check (Sailthru).

If Sailthru rejects your code

Sailthru's help doesn't cover rejected codes beyond telling you to contact Support. The usual cause is the iPhone's clock: open Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Novaz also warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. Other causes are in Authenticator code not working?

New phone or lost phone

You can't reset your own MFA in Sailthru. For a new device, Sailthru tells you to contact an Account Admin in your organization (Sailthru). If you have a Novaz iCloud backup or backup file, you can restore your accounts on the new iPhone and the codes keep working, so you may not need a reset. Without one, you'll scan a new QR code after the reset. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.

If the phone is gone:

  1. On the code screen, select Use the recovery code next to Lost your device? and enter the code you saved.
  2. Without it, ask an Account Admin at your company to reset your MFA. You'll set it up again at your next login.
  3. If no admin can help, Sailthru points you to Zeta's support portal, or your Zeta representative if you don't have a portal account (Sailthru). Its pages don't say what proof Support asks for or how long it takes.

For Account Admins: resetting someone's MFA

  1. In the Settings menu, go to Permissions > User Management (Sailthru).
  2. Select the user. If they're enrolled, you'll see a Reset MFA button.
  3. Select it, then Reset MFA again in the confirmation window. The reset can't be undone.

"An Account Admin cannot reset their own MFA," so Sailthru recommends keeping at least two people in that role (Sailthru). If you're the only admin and lose both your phone and your recovery code, only Support can help.

Sailthru doesn't document a way to turn MFA off. A reset only clears the user's enrollment until their next login.
