Verpex 2FA: how to set up an authenticator app

Novaz steps checked against version 1.0.5
On this page
Verpex is a web host, and your Verpex account is the client area at clients.verpex.com, which its knowledge base calls the Hosting Panel. It holds your hosting plans, domains and invoices. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is optional there, and the only kind Verpex documents is a 6-digit code from an authenticator app (Verpex). Its help pages don't mention text-message codes, email codes or backup codes.
That last point shapes everything below: if Verpex gives you no backup codes, the phone with your authenticator is the only thing standing between you and a support ticket. This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone, but any authenticator app works the same way.
How we checked this guide: the Verpex steps come from Verpex's own knowledge base, including its screenshots, linked below, which we read on October 21, 2026. We haven't tested them on a Verpex account, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.
This guide covers signing in to the Verpex client area. It doesn't cover the separate logins for cPanel, webmail or WordPress on your hosting plan.
Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app
Verpex's article on managing your profile describes these steps (Verpex):
- Sign in at clients.verpex.com with your email address and password (Verpex).
- Click your initials in the top-right corner, then Profile.
- In the left sidebar, click Security.
- Find the Two-factor authentication section. Until you set it up, it says 2FA hasn't been configured on the account. Click the slider to switch it on.
- A dialog called Enable two-factor authentication opens with a QR code. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at it.
- Type the 6-digit code from Novaz into the boxes next to the QR code, then click Enable.
From then on, the client area asks for a code from your app after your username and password.
Verpex's dialog doesn't show a text key to type in by hand. Its fallback is a link for people who are setting up on a mobile device, and the help page doesn't say what that link does. If you're signed in to Verpex on the same iPhone that runs Novaz, the reliable route is a screenshot of the QR code: tap + in Novaz, then Choose a photo, and pick the screenshot. See how to scan a QR code on the same iPhone, and delete the screenshot once the account is added, because it holds your key.
Verpex's older 2FA article describes the same switch with older labels: your profile menu, then My account, then the Security tab (Verpex). If your screen matches that one instead, the setting is still under Security.
Plan for a lost phone before you need to
Neither Verpex article mentions backup codes, recovery codes or a second method. Unless you turn on iCloud backup or export a backup file, Novaz keys exist only on your iPhone, so a lost or broken phone leaves you without codes.
One way to cover yourself is to scan the same QR code into a second authenticator app, on another device, before you click Enable. Both apps then make the same codes. Do this at setup time: Verpex doesn't document a way to show the QR code again later.
If Verpex rejects your code
Verpex's help doesn't cover rejected codes. The usual cause is the iPhone's clock. Open Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically. Novaz warns you when your clock is 15 seconds or more off. More causes are in Authenticator code not working?
If you lose your authenticator
Without backup codes, your route back in is Verpex support. Its support page lists phone lines in the UK and the US, live chat and support tickets, and says the team is available around the clock (Verpex). Verpex's knowledge base doesn't describe a process for removing 2FA from a locked account, what proof it asks for, or how long it takes.
Verpex normally confirms who you are with a 6-digit Support PIN (Verpex). The catch is that you read that PIN inside the client area, and Verpex says a PIN is assigned for 24 hours after you sign in (Verpex). If you're locked out, you won't have one. Be ready to identify yourself another way, for example with the email address on the account and details of your services and invoices.

Changing phones
Verpex doesn't describe moving 2FA to a new phone. With a Novaz iCloud backup or backup file, you can restore your accounts on the new iPhone and keep the same codes. Without one, set it up again while the old phone still works: turn 2FA off in Security, then turn it on again and scan the new QR code with the new phone. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone. Once the new phone works, open the old Verpex entry in Novaz and tap Remove account.
Turning 2FA off
Verpex's newer article doesn't cover turning it off. The older one says to go to Security and switch the feature off, and its screenshot shows a Disable button in the Two-factor authentication section once 2FA is on (Verpex). Verpex advises against it, since only your password then protects the account.
