Druide account 2FA: how to set up an authenticator app
By the Novaz team · Updated October 29, 2026
Novaz steps checked against version 1.0.5
On this page
Your Druide account is the sign-in behind Antidote, the writing software from Druide informatique. It opens the Client Portal, where you manage your licenses and subscriptions, and it carries the optional cloud sync for your Antidote data across devices (Druide). Druide recommends multi-factor authentication (MFA) but doesn't require it.
There's one catch before you start. MFA only works when you sign in with your Druide ID, meaning your email address and a password. If you created the account through Microsoft, Google, Apple or Facebook, it has no password, and Druide says MFA can't be turned on for it (Druide).
You can choose between three methods: an authentication app, a code sent to a secondary email address, or a code sent to your primary email address. Druide calls the app the most secure of the three. This guide uses Authenticator App - Novaz on iPhone, but any authenticator app works the same way.
How we checked this guide: the Druide steps come from the Client Portal User Guide on Druide's Antidote site, linked below, which we read on October 22, 2026. We haven't tested them on a Druide account, so a label may differ slightly. The Novaz steps are checked against the app, version 1.0.5.
Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app
Druide's user guide describes these steps (Druide):
- Sign in to the Client Portal. On antidote.info, click Log In, then Client Portal (Druide).
- Click your avatar and choose My account.
- Open the Security tab. Under Authentication methods, click Set up next to Authentication app.
- A window shows a QR code and a secret key. In Novaz, tap +, then Scan QR code, and point the camera at the code. If the QR code is on the same iPhone, take a screenshot, tap +, then Choose a photo. See scanning a QR code on the same iPhone.
- If you'd rather type the key, tap +, then Enter key manually in Novaz. Enter Druide as the Service, your email as the Account if you like, and the secret key as the Setup key. See What is a 2FA setup key?
- Back in the Client Portal, click Next.
- Type the 6-digit code from Novaz into the Authentication code field and click Next.
- Druide shows five recovery codes. Save them, then click Finish.
Your five recovery codes
The recovery codes are meant for trouble, such as losing access to your app. Each one works only once (Druide). Druide suggests keeping copies in more than one safe place.
Druide also wants you to always have at least one valid code left. The Client Portal tells you when you're down to your last one. To get a fresh set, go to the Security tab under My account and click Regenerate. The five new codes replace the old ones (Druide).
Without a Novaz backup (iCloud backup or a backup file), the keys exist only on your iPhone, so store these codes away from the phone. More in 2FA backup codes.
Add a secondary email as a fallback
You can link a second email address to the account as an extra method, next to the app. On the Security tab, click Set up next to Verification code sent to the secondary email address, add and confirm the address, then click Activate (Druide). This gives you a way in if the app and your recovery codes both fail.
Signing in with a code
After your password, the Client Portal asks for a code. Copy it from Novaz into the Verification code field and click Confirm. To use a recovery code instead, click the Recovery code link (Druide). Druide's guide doesn't say whether it remembers trusted devices.
If Druide rejects your code
The only advice in Druide's guide is that the code changes quickly: if it runs out before you use it, go back to the app and take the new one. If fresh codes still fail, check your iPhone's clock: Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically. Novaz warns you when the clock is 15 seconds or more off. See Authenticator code not working?
Changing phones
On the Security tab, click Options next to Authentication app, then Update. This removes the current app so you can set up the new one (Druide). Do it while the old phone still works. If you have a Novaz iCloud backup or backup file, you don't need this: restore your accounts on the new iPhone instead. See How to transfer your authenticator app to a new iPhone.
If you lose your authenticator
- Click Recovery code at sign-in and use one of your codes. Then set up the app again with Options > Update, and click Regenerate for new recovery codes.
- With no recovery codes, click Send a verification code to the secondary email address, if you added one.
- With neither, Druide's guide says to contact its customer service (Druide). It doesn't say what proof Druide asks for or how long it takes. The contact page aims to reply within 48 hours, Monday to Friday (Druide).
